Third Class 2025/26

Term 2

March has been a very busy month in 3rd class. We worked independently on our Egypt projects and presented them to our class and 2nd class. We celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite characters and took part in buddy reading with Junior Infants! It was so fun reading to someone else. We also celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge! It was a busy week. We had to learn the Haka as Gaeilge, the Dreolín, and an Damhsa Mór for our céilí. We also learned Amhrán na bhFiann and Shotgun (as Gaeilge!). Some of our favourite activities were the raffle, the art competition, and céilí. Congratulations to Jamie in Ms Carty’s and Áine in Ms Harney’s on winning the competition. We will be finishing up March by helping Ms Gately and the Green School’s Committee in the National Spring Clean!

World Book Day 2026

Christmas Fun

Third class is off to a super busy and exciting start! In art, we created our self-portraits that display both our inner and outer selves. These showcase the things that make us unique!
Ms. Carty’s class supported the Green Schools Committee by taking part in a litter-picking initiative throughout September, which showed us the importance of caring for the environment around us.
As historians, we explored the town of Athlone with our guide, Martin Curley, learning about the Siege of Athlone and the fascinating history behind the buildings around us.
We’ve also been taking part in the “Skip Around the World” Active Schools initiative, challenging ourselves to beat our personal bests each day!
