Junior Infants 2025/26

Term 2

Term 2 has been very busy in Junior Infants. We learned all about the explorer Tom Crean and loved imagining what it might have been like in the South pole. We learned about his expeditions and drew pictures of the Terra Nova . We explored different modes of transport and learned about how we can travel by land, air and water. Junior Infants have been learning all about Spring. They printed beautiful Spring scenes using sponges and stamps. They wrote about signs of Spring and learned all about St. Patrick. In Maths, we learned about measures. We investigated the capacity of different containers with water and sand, measured the length of items with cubes and links and we had great fun comparing the weight of different objects using balances.

Christmas Fun

Well done to the all the boys and girls in Junior Infants on a brilliant first half- term! They have settled in so well to the classroom and school routines.

We have been very busy learning all about the Doctor’s Surgery,  Autumn and Halloween. The children have enjoyed drawing their self-portraits, designing Miss Polly’s quilt and painting autumn trees. We have been learning the nursery rhymes Incy Wincy Spider, Miss Polly Had a Dolly and Humpty Dumpty. We had great fun making potions and spells in the role play area, designing costumes and writing about Halloween. The children have been learning our numbers 1-4 and identifying letter sounds in Jolly Phonics. We have also been playing playground games and practising our basketball skills and skipping in P.E.

We are so proud of  the wonderful work Junior Infants have been doing. Well done!
