Our Local History Trip
On Wednesday 21st October the 2 Sixth classes embarked on a local history trail to Meehambee. It was a 2.6km walk to our destination. Lots of fresh air and exercise! On the way we completed a Science trail noting all the signs of Autumn around us. When we reached the dolmen we acted like historians looking for clues from the past. Did you know Meehambee dolmen was built 5520 years ago? The Neolithic people used the dolmen as a burial chamber. Drum Heritage group have lovely information boards explaining more about the history and nature in the area. It is well worth a visit. We had a fantastic day out.
