St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Food Appeal
This year Cloonakilla N.S supported the St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Food Appeal. The families in our school were extremely generous and donated lots of items – on Monday evening we dropped off countless bags and boxes of food and goodies to St Vincent de Paul!!! In the images below you can see the proud Green School Committee members pictured with all of the items that were donated. We decided to support this appeal as we are currently working towards obtaining our 6th Green Schools Flag. The theme for this year is Global Citizenship – Litter and Waste.

June 2016 – 5th Green Flag
After all our hard work in Cloonakilla we were presented with our 5th Green flag for Biodiversity. We had litter pickers, we made bird boxes with some support from parents, we had many WOW days and we attracted mini beasts to our school with bug hotels ! The seniors planted a wonderful vegetable patch with has lettuce, potatoes and scallions !
We had a wonderful day of celebration when the parents were entertained by a presentation demonstrating the work involved in the Green School Programme. We proudly raised our 5th Green Flag – and the pupils were treated to an icecream !
