December Senior Infants.

This month Senior Infants were focusing on learning about Winter and Christmas.

In Art we learned about Vincent Van Gogh and discussed some of the techniques he used in his paintings. We created our own version of “A Starry Night.” We explored using chalk pastels to create a snowman. We identified warm and cool colours.  We made snow globes by painting using cotton buds.

In S.E.S.E we learned about Florence Nightingale. We made a timeline of her life and wrote about what we learned.

In Aistear, we imagined that we were working in Santa’s Grotto. We designed toys, built them from playdough and blocks and wrapped presents.  We built Santa’s Grotto using wooden blocks. We also wrote letters to Santa. We designed our own Winter hat and played Winter bingo.

We took part in a Christmas concert. We worked really hard at rehearsing our songs, poems and actions and really enjoyed the performance.
